Roadmap

There are still plenty of features missing to the plugin. The following gives an overview over upcoming features.

Writable Console

Make the console writable and transmit the input to the simulator.

Serial Port Forwarding

The VS Code extension allows to connect to the serial port of the simulated microcontroller using an RFC2217 TCP server.

IoT Gateway

The VS Code extension includes a bundled version of the Wokwi Private IoT Gateway, which allows to connect the virtual WiFi of the simulated ESP32 to your local network and the Internet.

Custom Chips

Currently it is not possible to load custom chips to the simulation.

Diagram Editor

The VS Code extension has a Pro feature where users can modify the diagram.json via a webgui within the editor.
